Darwin's theory with Super Powers
I'm not a fanatic, but I love this stuff. Darwin suggested that we all descend from very few simple organisms from millions of years back. Sure, there are still gaps in the roadmap he proposes, but so far, as those gaps have been filled with progressive discoveries there has not yet been any piece of evidence that indicates contrary to his theory.
I find it fascinating because his theory does not simply apply to phisical evolution, but emotional and psicological as well. Allow me to elaborate:
- Emotional Evolution: Alanis Morissette says it often "You live, your Learn" ... and so we grow. We become emotionally attached to people along our lives in different stages. We attach to family, we attach to a partner, we attach to our kids. Our feelings become dependant of those from others around us we choose to. And that is the key "we choose to". It doesn't happen randomly, we are not forced, we simply choose to love and be love as a natural reaction.
- Psicological Evolution: Have you ever manipulated anyone for anything? it does not matter if you've done it on purpose or not, we learn to adapt to the world we live in. Some hustle, some charm, some manipulate, it comes different as different we are, yet we all become "street smart" to handle things better each time we face new challenges. You are not born with it, it is a developed skill, it is a survival mechanism, because just as Darwin points out, the world is of the fittest.
But it doesn't stop there, why would it? Think about it, aren't we a more developed version of our ancesters? Aren't we capable of doing bigger and better things in less time and with less effort? That's simply because we learn from experience and with this, we go through a cyclic pattern through which we develop ourselves to do better each time.
- Why are records constantly being beaten? Once you try something long enough and hard enough you happen to master it, and as you do this, you replace those who mastered it before you, until someone replaces you.
- Why are our buildings geting bigger, bridges longer, ships larger? Because as time goes by we come to know more about things we've built, we master elements to make things bigger, better and faster. We have a basic need to do whatever we do better than before.
Why are we like this? After all, aren't we on our phisical being for a very limited amount of time? What basic need do we have that makes us try hard to achieve be where no one else has been before? I can't say I have the perfect answer to it, but I have a theory.
My Theory
If we come from the COSMOS, and we are made out of particles from it; if we've travel space and we've discovered more about us than we thought; if we've seen beyond and saw there's more than our world out there... why should we just accept the idea that we are marely a casuality, that we happen to be just because and that the Universe never intended it, doesn't care or doesn't know that we exists. No, I am not suggesting Alien life, so you can keep reading... well, at least I am not using the term Alien (bookmark this thought on your brain).
What if all we are, all we've been and all we are meant to be (destiny) ... we already were. What if life itself is cyclic. Isn't this very simple form of life a loop anyways? we are born, we develop, we die... just to watch someone else go through the same cicle over and over again. What if I suggested that we've already gone through this process before, we once were, we developed, we adapted, we evolve until we ran out of resources, we ran out of world... could we have developed enough to find another planet? another galaxy, another universe? And assuming that we did, and we adapted our lives to a more advanced way of living and we saw what we become wouldn't you try to do it all over again and then try and reach a new level of evolution more advanced than the one before? Many questions burden my mind, but a single though is present: If we could, we would see ourselves from a different form of life... if we could we would plant seeds of ourselves in hopes for a better harvest.
We often talk about destiny, we feel we have a purpose, we feel we are meant to do something. Can someone really explain those feelings? how they come to be? Could it be we are programmed when we are born to suit a purpose (remember the matrix)? Or could we be living again what we already once knew? And if so, how far could we go?
Super Powers
A very popular TV Show called Heroes goes well in tune with my thoughts right now. Who would have thought 500 years back we would have the resources and the knowledge to fly (talking about a plane here). About 500 years back most people still believed Earth was flat, but we did it, didn't we? Sure that's just a technological advance, and as such there are many others, the Internet, The TV, so many we've come accostume to. We've developed our mind to be a creative source of ideas, we've become engineers of our future... most importantly, I feel we are just starting to realize we are engineers of our minds. The same way we creatively build things using tools developed by previous versions of ourselves, we will eventualy realize we are creative enough to adjust our thoughts and align them towards doing anything. Be your calling to shoot fire through your hands, or fly with a cape that's on everyone's mind to ponder over, the bottom line is that the world is a canvas and your mind is the pencil. Power is inside, waiting to be unleashed.
Do you think I am right, or wrong? doesn't matter much, after all, I doubt anyone pays enough attention to put the pieces together. We are too busy with senseless politics and economics. We are bombarded with media that tells us how things are. Most people already lost their ability to be leaders, to be creative, to be original and unique; most people satisfy themselves being followers of what's generally assumed.
I think there is a lot more to life that beats the eye. I feel there is someone watching over my shoulders, controlling my thoughts, my actions and my future. I think it is a parallel version of myself, I can't understand for sure what it is telling me, but I feel it is warning me. I feel it is telling me what's bound to happen, it is saying we can't avoid it, but we can overcome it. Look deep inside and find yourself, follow a purpose, make it happen.
